John Mellis Profile

Very few details of the Mellis early years exist on public record, for many reasons.

Through sheer shame, understandably, his parents have tried to remove any sense of acknowledgement of their blood ties to him from any official documentation.

John has attempted to paper over the cracks and shield any blemishes of previous public misdemeanours from the record.

Any remaining information has decayed over time, the parchment unable to weather the erosion of the passing millennia.

Suffice to say - in 1995, a crackpot DJ was sent to prison in Inverness for a crime he did not commit. (Namely, playing a Dominic Kirwan track, from the country album of the week, on a radio station he worked at, at the time).

John promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Deeside underground.

Today, still wanted by the government, he survives as a DJ of misfortune.

If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and, if you can find him, maybe you can laugh at him too and make yourself feel better when you realise….at least it’s not THAT bad. .

The Looping Star

One of the challenges between Greigsy and Yazz was to ride the Looping Star 10 times.....with water. Who managed to keep the most after 10 loops? We don't have as much recorded here as we thought. We recorded over an hour and got back to find all our equipment soaked and broken.... this stunt cost us around £1,000 after we broke our digital recorder and the camcorder too! [more]
